Defense verdicts: Roe v. Doe
Robert McKenna and Danielle Velazquez obtained a defense award at arbitration defending an urgent care physician at a major Southern California medical center. The plaintiffs alleged the physician failed to diagnose Group A strep pneumonia in a woman who passed away several days after being seen in the urgent care. Mr. McKenna and Ms. Velazquez successfully demonstrated that the patient did not have any signs or symptoms of Group A strep on the day of her urgent care visit, thus demonstrating that the urgent care physician acted appropriately when he discharged the patient.
