Hannah Hogoboom secures dismissal in premises liability case on behalf of California stadium

Hannah Hogoboom won a significant victory on behalf of a prominent California stadium, obtaining summary judgment in a premises liability and negligence action arising from injuries allegedly sustained by a spectator during a professional football game. The plaintiff alleged that another spectator fell into her, causing injuries, and claimed that inadequate security, crowd management, and dangerous conditions at the stadium contributed to the incident.

Ms. Hogoboom successfully demonstrated that the plaintiff lacked competent evidence establishing a dangerous condition, negligence, or actual or constructive notice of any alleged hazard. The Court also sustained key evidentiary objections to the plaintiff’s security expert, finding that his opinions were speculative and lacked sufficient evidentiary foundation.

Despite multiple continuances and the plaintiff’s last-minute efforts to delay the hearing for additional discovery, the Court granted summary judgment in its entirety, eliminating all claims against Ms. Hogoboom’s client.
