Ms. Velazquez has been practicing as a litigator for over 12 years, the majority of which has been spent defending healthcare providers and healthcare facilities in professional liability claims. She has been with Kjar, McKenna & Stockalper, LLP since the firm’s inception in 2018, and she was named Partner in 2019. Prior to being one of KMS’s founding attorneys, Ms. Velazquez had experience working in medical malpractice defense, elder abuse defense, and workers’ compensation defense.

Ms. Velazquez and her team have successfully obtained defense verdicts for her clients in arbitration and in California superior court, have had multiple motions for summary judgment granted in her clients’ favor, and have succeeded on appeal after arguing in front of the Second District Court of Appeal. Ms. Velazquez has also assisted many federally-funded healthcare clinics apply for coverage under the Federal Torts Claims Act (FTCA) when improperly sued in superior court. She has defended countless providers at their depositions and during Medical Board investigations.
