Associate position working with partners in a practice specializing in insurance and professional liability defense.

This is an excellent opportunity for new attorneys who are interested in focusing on professional and medical malpractice, or for those with malpractice experience who are looking to continue to develop in their careers. The ideal candidate will thrive in a legal setting; be an excellent representative for the firm; work efficiently under pressure and be able to meet deadlines; demonstrate good decision-making; and be proactive and solutions-focused. He or she should be articulate, poised, and possess good written and oral communication skills. He or she should be able to independently work with senior attorneys to manage caseloads. You must have a law license and have excellent research skills.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA school required
• Admitted to practice in the State of California
• 0-1 years of civil defense litigation experience
• Some experience with medical malpractice preferred
• Superior analytical skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Team player with great attitude and willingness to learn is essential

Responsibilities

• Independently work with a senior attorney and partner to manage caseload involving medical malpractice claims
• Conduct legal research, handle discovery and analyze medical records
• Regularly handle court appearances, depositions and meetings
• Communicate with clients and provide status reports

Salary commensurate with experience.
